General Information

Location
600 56’ West longitude and 130 15’ North latitude. It is approximately 1600 miles southeast of Miami and 100 miles west of Barbados, and forms part of the Windward Islands

Size
St. Vincent & the Grenadines consists of some 32 islands, totaling approximately 150 square miles (389 square km). St. Vincent is about 29 km (18 miles) long and 17.7 km (11 miles) wide and has an area of 344 sq. km (133 sq. miles). The Grenadines include Bequia, Canouan, Mustique and Union Island, and a group of smaller, mainly unpopulated islands, including the world famous sailing paradise – Tobago Cays.

Geography and Topography
St. Vincent is mountainous with its highest peak being the La Soufriere volcano, 4,048 ft. (1,234m). The Grenadines are low-lying and are surrounded by pristine waters which are ideal for sailing and diving.

St Vincent and the Grenadines has a population of 110,000 people.

English is the official language of St. Vincent and the Grenadines
